Cherry, Chocolate-Chip Cheese Pie ❤️

My family loves Cheese Pie.

You might be asking yourself, “What is a Cheese Pie?”

And I have the answer for you!

A Cheese Pie is almost like a cheesecake but it not firm. It sets up like a pie and oh how delicious it is!

I grew up on my momma’s homemade Cherry and Blueberry Cheese Pie at every special holiday or event. My kiddo’s didn’t have much choice but to love them since it is a family favorite, and my hubby, well, its sweet and has cream cheese, right? Need I say more!

I love making recipes that my momma made, but I also like to recreate my own recipes to add my own spin on them.

But with the new year brings new resolutions right? And normally those resolutions include exercising and eating healthy. I really wanted to make a Valentine theme cheese pie but just a healthier version, and that is when I thought Yogurt!!

Yogurt is a major snack food in our house right now. It’s quick, tasty and healthy so it’s a win win for me!

So I thought, “Why couldn’t I use it in my Cheese Pie?” It would cut down on some of the sugar but you still have the sweetness of the pie.

And since it is a Valentine theme dessert, I couldn’t resist using my adorable mini heart pie pans!

Aren’t they so sweet?

Okay, so are you ready?

What you need:

8 ounces of Original Greek Yogurt

8 ounces of Cream Cheese softened

1/4 cup of Maraschino Cherries Chopped Finely

1/8 cup of Maraschino Cherry Juice

2 cups of Powdered Sugar

2 tsp of Vanilla

1/2 cup of Mini Chocolate Chips

What you do:

1) In a large bowl, mix together Greek Yogurt, Cream Cheese, Powdered Sugar and Vanilla until completely creamed together.

2) Next add in Chopped Cherries and Juice and mix.

3) Gently stir in Chocolate Chips.

4) Pour into desired crust.

(I used a Homemade Chocolate Graham Cracker Crust, but you could use a regular graham crust)

5) Refrigerate for appx 30 minutes to set.

6) Serve and enjoy!

Homemade Chocolate Graham Cracker Crust

What you need:

2 Sleeves of Chocolate Graham Crackers

1/2 cup of Butter

What you do:

1) Place your Graham Crackers in food processor or ziplock bag and crush.

2) Melt your butter completely.

3) Pour crushed graham crackers and butter into bowl and stir together until graham crackers are completely soaked by butter.

4) Pour into a pie pan or plate and press down completely to form crust shape.

5) Bake at 350 F for appx 10-12 minutes to set crust.

6) Make sure to cool completely before pouring Cheese Pie into crust.
